Job Title: Systems Integration Engineer
Location: Segensworth, Hampshire
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
Reporting to: Technical Product Director

About the role

We’re looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to play a pivotal role in integrating and validating new systems, features, and payloads across Kraken’s platforms.

This role leads the technical delivery of assigned integration workstreams — from feasibility studies and solution architecture through to testing, evaluation, and deployment of scalable, reliable system capabilities. You’ll work closely with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams including Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Control Systems, and Software, helping to bring complex systems together into operational solutions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and implementing integration solutions across hardware, software, and networked systems

  • Analysing system requirements to identify integration needs, constraints, and risks

  • Developing system architectures and clear technical documentation

  • Leading problem‑solving and troubleshooting of integration issues

  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including:

    • Software engineering

    • Network and communications specialists

    • Product and programme teams

    • Maritime operations

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as:

    • Integration specifications

    • System diagrams

    • Test procedures and troubleshooting guides

  • Supporting system verification, testing, and evaluation activities

  • Monitoring system performance and recommending improvements for:

    • Reliability

    • Scalability

    • Security

What we’re looking for

Essential experience

  • Degree, HND, or equivalent in an engineering discipline such as:

    • Systems Engineering

    • Electrical / Electronic Engineering

    • Software Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

  • Proven experience in a technical engineering role

  • A practical, hands‑on approach to integration, testing, and fault‑finding

  • Strong understanding of systems thinking and how complex systems interact

  • Experience working in small, cross‑functional engineering teams

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

  • Experience with documentation, configuration control, and diligent record‑keeping

Desirable experience

  • Experience in maritime, aerospace, or automotive industries

  • Exposure to autonomous or robotic systems

  • Previous experience in a systems engineering or systems integration role

  • Knowledge of data networks such as CAN, IP, and serial communications

  • Understanding of communications systems, including:

    • RF (HF, VHF, UHF, MANET)

    • 4G / 5G

    • Satellite communications

  • Basic electrical engineering knowledge, particularly 12V / 24V vehicle systems, and awareness of electrical safety
